Max started his Archery journey aged 9 and was selected to join the AGB Performance Pathway just 2 years later.

He made his International Youth Debut in 2022 and went onto win a Team Bronze and Mixed Team Bronze at the European Youth Cup in Switzerland in 2023.

In 2024, aged 16, Max qualified to take part in the Paris Olympics Team selection shoot, finishing in 6th place, made his International Debut for the Senior GB team and won his first European Youth Individual medal achieving Gold at the European Youth Cup in Romania. He was also part of the Mens team at this event bringing home a Silver medal too. At the indoor Nationals Max finished in 4th place in the Tru Ball Axcel Back 2 Back and for the second year in a row ranked #1 in the UK Junior National Rankings.


In 2025, Age 17, Max competed in the National County Teams for Yorkshire-Men’s team and was awarded Bronze,  in the Mixed Team Tier 1 awarded Silver and were the Recurve Overall County winners. European Grand Prix leg 2 Arnhem, 9th place.

2025 Peak world ranking 209th, end of 2025 ranking 226th. same as previous years. Now ranked #4 in the UK U21 Junior National Rankings.
